These were manufactured by the Disabled Ex-Servicemen's Industries, later known as the Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI). Founded after World War I, the organisation was created to support wounded and disabled veterans by providing healthcare, vocational training, and employment opportunities as soldiers returned from the war.
