About

 Our story
Emmett and White Antiques & Interiors was established in 2015 by William Emmett and Nicholas White. After many years collecting unusual and interesting pieces we decided our house was getting rather full and we needed to do something about it. This is how Emmett & White was born.
 What’s in store?
Our aim is to stock the unusual and the interesting; the eccentric and the eclectic; curious things for curious people. Our stock is always changing and our ever-changing shop window is the talk of the village. We hope the pieces shown here give you some inspiration, a small insight into the wonderful world of Emmett & White, and most importantly a desire to come and see everything we have to offer.
What keeps us going?
It’s most certainly not a desire to make our fortune - although we always hope we could be the ones who discover that missing Old Master and move to a tropical island. But so far - nothing! We’re here because of a shared passion for wonderful antiques and a desire to keep collecting but also to share some of our fabulous finds with others.
Why visit Alfriston?
Naturally your first port of call in Alfriston will be a rather intriguing antiques shop. But whatever your interests there’s probably something in the village that will make you want to return again and again. From award-winning, independent bookshop, Much Ado Books to our favourite gallery, Alfriston Arts there’s so much to see. Enjoy food and drink in one of the many pubs or tea rooms, and even stay for a night or two. The fabulous and recently renovated Star Inn by the Polizzi Collection offers glamour and chic, while Deans Place gives you that Lord or Lady of the Manor feeling that only a great country house hotel can do.
