A charming late 19th-century etched glass brandy barrel, dating to circa 1880 and later converted into a distinctive table lamp. Originally made as part of a refined country-house drinks service, this decorative vessel has been given a new purpose while retaining its wonderful period character and convivial association with Victorian entertaining.
The barrel-shaped glass body is richly etched with decorative detail, its rounded form recalling the small spirit casks once displayed in dining rooms, libraries, and smoking rooms.
