Anne Messel, later Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992), was an influential British socialite and the mother of photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon. Born into the prominent Messel family, known for their patronage of the arts, Anne had a deep appreciation for culture and design.
She first married Ronald Armstrong-Jones, with whom she had two children. Following their divorce, she married Michael Parsons, 6th Earl of Rosse, and became deeply involved in the restoration of Birr Castle in Ireland. Anne was a patron of the arts and preservation efforts, helping to conserve important heritage sites and objects throughout her life.
